It was Banned Books Week Oct 4-10. Here’s my recommendation and thoughts:

I just happen to have reading lists on both Libro.FM and Bookshop.org, and I just realized I have never linked them over here. Well, as we are in Spooky Season, it seems the perfect time to share with you my favorite vampire listens and reads 🧛♀️
And for book-in-hand readers
Now, I’m going to take a minute to bitch and moan that two of my most favorite vampire books are on neither list, because they seem to be out of print. If you want to check your local library, or search used bookstores, here they are:
The Golden by Lucius Shepard (truly my favorite vampire story of all time, its only flaw is that it is not longer)
The World on Blood by Jonathan Nasaw (deeply influenced how kee and am'r experience vhoon in my books)
As a cute little thing for Spooky Season, I did this product review.
What do you think? Am I a natural, or should I never review anything again?
(I am considering putting out a resume as a Goth Flavor Consultant 😂)
It was the birthday of my beloved Cairngorm McWomble the Terrible on the 10th. Those of you who have read the dedications of my books will recognize that name.
I found this picture of him, helping me write the first draft of Blood Ex Libris back in 2017. He was my beloved co-author for that first book, for Blood Demands, Blood Eternal, and he stayed around long enough to help me finish Blood Triad. I literally finished the last words for Blood Triad as he was snuggled up to me, the day before he left this mortal plane.
He was beloved at the Starbucks in Noe Valley, SF. I wasn’t welcome there without him!
Now, of course, Archie has taken up the reigns as co-author, and is doing a fantastic job. But I will always miss Cairngorm, and when I hear Amber Benson read his name in the dedication in the audiobooks, it always chokes me up 🥹
Boo! 👻 Even more Halloween content next time! 🎃Until two weeks from now, be good or be good at it! 😘
